No injuries as two rockets hit Israel     (World News)

NAHARIYA, Israel, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Israeli forces fired artillery shells near Tyre, Lebanon, Friday after two rockets were launched from the area into Israel, Israeli military sources said.

The unidentified sources told The Jerusalem Post nearly 15 artillery shells were fired at the suspected source of the rockets, which struck near the northern Israeli city of Nahariya.

The rockets reportedly landed in open fields, resulting in no property damage or injuries.

Military sources said the rocket attack could have been the work of a Global Jihad terror group, while Israeli military officials said in a statement it was holding the Lebanese government responsible for Friday's attack and other attacks originating in Lebanese territory.

An unidentified military official suggested the latest attack could be linked to the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks in the United States.

"The rocket attack could be connected to a number of events -- the eight anniversary of 9/11, the large (Israeli military) exercise in the north this week of some small terror group's discontent with Hezbollah," the official told the Post.
