Cubes, Jaguars recalled     (Business News)
07/26/2010 05:54 P (EST)
NEW YORK, July 26 (UPI) -- Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. is recalling 46,000 of its Cube vehicles and Britain's Jaguar is making fixes to 5,000 of its XF and XK model cars.

Both have been found to have fuel system-related problems, Motor Trend magazine reported Monday.

The 2009-2010 Cubes, a compact wagon, was found to leak too much gasoline in a rear-moving barrier crash test. The leaking gas could lead to a fire, the magazine said.

Beginning about the end of August, Nissan dealers will fix the problem by attaching a special protector to the gas recirculation tube at the filler neck connector.

Jaguar found its 2010 XFs and 2010-2011 XKs with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine could stall because of problems with an in-tank electric fuel pump. The pump has been found to have trouble re-energizing once the vehicle is restarted.

Jaguar dealers will install revise software to fix the issue beginning about the end of August.

Motor Trend said the recall information came from the U.S. National Transportation Highway Safety Administration.
