KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 28 (UPI) -- Delmon Young bashed a three-run homer and Jason Repko added a solo shot Wednesday and the Minnesota Twins swept Kansas City with a 6-4 victory.
Young, hitting .425 over his last 19 games, went 3-for-5, including a first-inning blast that put the Twins ahead for good.
Repko homered and added three hits and Joe Mauer chipped in with a pair of hits and two runs scored as Minnesota swept a three-game series at Kauffman Stadium and won for the seventh time in eight games.
Brian Duensing (4-1) held the Royals to two runs on eight hits through six innings in his first start since replacing Nick Blackburn in the Twins' rotation. Jon Rauch picked up his 21st save with a scoreless ninth.
Kansas City starter Brian Bannister (7-10) yielded five runs on 11 hits.
Rick Ankiel collected a pair of hits and drove in two runs for the Royals.
