3-on-3 Tournament Finals Set

July 29--GOSHEN -- Rain showers caused fans to scurry for cover several times, but for the most part the weather conditions didn't deter players in the annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament Wednesday night at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair.
Despite the short-term delays, semifinalists were determined in two more age brackets for Thursday's final evening of games.
Championship contests are scheduled for all age groups tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m. Also slated are slam dunk and 3-point shooting contests.
In the female age 16-and-over semifinals, Team Falcon meets Team Fetters and Team Schwartz clashes with Team Swihart.
The semis are slated to begin around 7:20 p.m. and the championship at approximately 9:25.
Members of Team Falcon are Amber Falcon, Kelsey Hershberger, Jena Hershberger and Erica Emanuel of Goshen. Playing for Team Fetters are Katie Fetters of Hamilton, Ohio, Meaghan Heatherman of South Bend, Lindsay Swaim of Bristol and Baysia Cox of Niles, Michigan.
Making up Team Schwartz are Brooke Schwartz, Diamond Setterberg and Emily Waits of Goshen and Lindsey Steffen of Wakarusa. Members of Team Swihart are Aimee Swihart, Haley Schrock and Madison Schrock of Goshen and Rylee Holland of Rochester.
In boys age 16-18, Team Getz and Team Noble square off in one semifinal with Team Justin Stutzman meeting Team Waycaster in the other.
Semis are slated to being around 7:45 with the championship around 9:25.
Team Getz is made up of Ryan Getz, Louis Kissinger, Alex Detweiler and Zach Truex of Goshen. Members of Team Noble are Micah Noble of New Paris, Tanner Foust, Derek Vogelzang and Miles Kritzman of Goshen.
Playing for Team Stutzman are Justin Stutzman and Tyler Eash of Middlebury, Matthew Beiler and Judson Yoder of Goshen. Members of Team Waycaster are Cory Waycaster, Jake Thompson and Austin Lutz.
Action also got under way in the male 19-30 division, but due the large number of teams entered that bracket will continue tonight.
